16 Aug Make sure that your home is viewing ready with these top tips
When it comes to selling a property, first impressions really count. In order for your potential buyers to want to make an offer, you are going to need to do whatever you can to impress them and make sure that they fall in love with your property.
There are a variety of ways that you can do this. Some are relatively obvious, but there are others which you may not even realise that you should do. To help to make the most of every single viewing on your property. We have put together our top tips for creating the ideal impression in your home.
Keep it clean
We are starting with the most obvious one. It is vital that if you have a viewing on your property then you need to make sure that it is as clean as possible. When you make the decision to sell your home, then you are going to want to give it a good thorough clean and declutter; all before the first potential buyers even step foot in the house.
The impression that you create for your property starts from the very moment that your viewers arrive. This means that you need to impress them from the get go. Think about the outside of your property and how it looks. This is called kerbside appeal and is all too often forgotten. Take a look at your garden and outside space, give it a spruce up and make sure it looks as neat as possible.
Try and limit the boxes
If you already have plans to move and you are packing up ready to go, then it can be hard to avoid having boxes all around your home. However, do what you can to try to minimise this. Viewers are going to expect there to be signs of someone moving out, but it is best to try and keep your boxes neatly stored away in one or two rooms in your home. That way, even though they will see the boxes, they will be confined to one or two spaces.
Less is more in personal touches
When you lived in your house, then you will have done whatever you can to make it as personal as possible. This means lots of touches that are just about you and your family, including photos and things that you have collected over time. However, when someone is coming to view your property, they are going to want to be able to visualise themselves living there. This means that you need to do whatever you can to minimise the personal touches that they will see around. Giving them a blank canvas to work with.
